Take the decimal fraction of feet and divide by 0.08333 (1/12th) and this will give you inches and decimals of an inch. For example - 6.37 feet. Take the 0.37 feet and divide by 0.0833 = 4.44 inches. We carry a full line of aftermarket automotive parts including a variety of clips, nuts, bolts, washers, electrical connectors, light bulbs, shop supplies and more. We stock such manufacturers as 3M, Loctite, Permatex, CEC, Krylon, Car-Pak and AuVeCo.
FROM SCOTLAND
John,
Many thanks for your email. We have just used the clips on our first project, photo attached. This is a large log house up in Sutherland, about 12 miles from Cape Wrath Scotland’s most northerly point. The winds come in right off the Atlantic and can be very “brisk”. The clips were excellent, the self retaining aspect being particularly useful in these conditions. The guys were very impressed with how easy it was to feed the next row of sheets in, all in all a great success.
Thank you for an excellent product. As I mentioned during the summer the clips we bought this year should see us through until next summer when I hope to be back out in Carolina again, however having checked out the shipping costs if we do need before then we would probably just get more shipped across.
Many thanks for your help with this, if there’s anything we can do to help promote the clips across here just let me know.
regards,
Bill Grant

Introducing ClipHouse 1.0
Table of Contents
Introduction
Dear Customer,
Thank you for using ClipHouse, the application that makes the handling of CinemaDNG RAW and Magic Lantern RAW as simple as possible. For preparing the source material for editorial, ClipHouse offers four distinct rooms to cover all relevant steps:
- Copy – Safe and reliable Backup
- Manage – Native playback and easy organization
- Color – Automatic correction and creative grading
- Export – Creation of QuickTimes for editorial
What you need
Hardware and Software Requirements
ClipHouse requires an Intel Mac with OSX 10.7.x or higher.
For importing camera material, you will probably need a card reader. For backing up camera material to multiple destinations you will need access to external volumes such as external hard drives or network volumes.
Supported media formats and Cameras
Up to now, ClipHouse supports all cameras and recorders that create CinemaDNG RAW. Additionally, ClipHouse supports Canon EOS cameras that create RAW files with the MagicLantern firmware:
- Blackmagic Design: Cinema Camera (BMCC)
- Blackmagic Design: Pocket Camera (BMPC)
- Digital Bolex: D16
- Ikonoskop: A-Cam
- Indiecam: GS2K
- Kinefinity: KineRAW S-35
- Solectrix/Anadicon: sinaCAM
- Variety of Canon EOS cameras
Note: For real-time playback of RAW media files a fast hard drive such as a SSD card is recommended.
User Interface
ClipHouse’s main window consists of the following elements:
- Room Selector: Switch between the four rooms in ClipHouse
- Jobs Panel: Shows running background tasks such as copy jobs and export jobs
- Clip Library: The clip library allows to select the clips that are currently displayed in the timeline. The clip library includes folders for import events as well as smart folders. The clip library is not available in the copy and export rooms.
- Project Manager: Create, open, rename or delete projects.
- Playback Controls: Control the playback of camera media and choose display options such as zoom and quality. The playback controls are only available in rooms with clip canvases. You can zoom by dragging and optionally pan the image holding the “Alt” key.
- Timeline: The timeline allows to navigate within and between the clips from the currently selected folder of the clip library.
ClipHouse Rooms
ClipHouse is divided into four rooms, containing all necessary controls for a specific activity.
These are the four rooms:
Copy
Copy camera media from camera volumes to multiple disks with checksum verification. You can drag folders from the Finder into the left area of the copy room or onto the dock icon in order to start an offload or for importing sequences.
Sequences should consists of at least two sequentially numbered DNG files.
Organize
Browse through the clip library, watch clips, and inspect metadata.
Grade
Adjust both technical and artistic aspects of the image. The grading controls let you manipulate white balance, exposure, saturation, tint, contrast and sharpness.
Export
Transcode RAW camera media to QuickTime ProRes and H.264 movie files with different size and quality settings.
Copy Room
When starting to use ClipHouse, in the first place you will be in the Copy room. Here you will be able to offload the footage, and other related files like e.g. sound files from the camera storage to multiple backup destinations. All footage and all other files are checksum verified, meaning that ClipHouse compares each copied file with its origin source to ensure that the complete source media is transferred without any alterations.
First of all you have to assign clips to a project. For that, you can select a project from the top left “Project” button (figure 1 #1)
The “Summary” panel (figure 1 #3) will give you information about the steps how to continue in the copy room.
Source
Then, if the camera storage device is not already connected, plug it into your computer. You can also copy from a specific folder clicking on the “Add source” button (figure 1 #2), so that you can navigate to it. Once your copy source is loaded click on “scan”. At this point ClipHouse will check it in order to identify the footage. It is possible to set an automatic scan for the connected devices in Preferences.
Color tags will reveal the status of the source. A blue circle means that the footage is not copied yet. A green dot shows that the files are already ingested. A half orange colored circle warns about a partially ingested camera storage device.
figure 2: color tags
To copy only part of the files from the camera media storage device click on the arrow by the source item. There you are able to navigate through the footage and select the files you want to copy.
Select all the sources you want to copy from by marking their checkbox. Ember 1 5 1 – versatile digital scrapbook. Note ify notes 1 41 download free.
If any of the source items does not contain suitable footage, you can clear it by clicking on the “Clear all” button.
Destination
By default, a ClipHouse folder will be created in the user’s Movies folder where your footage will be copied. However, you can add multiple destinations by clicking on the “Add destination” button (figure 1 #4). Click on the “Remove” button to delete a destination.
The clips selected from the source panel will be copied to all the destinations with the checkbox marked.
Click on Start Copy to backup your footage. To check the status of the process go to the “Jobs” panel (figure 3). Click on the running job if you want to have more detailed information about your current copy process.
Checksum verification
Once the copy process is finished, an .mhl file will be created in the destination folder. If you have to copy the clips again to other destinations, you can use this file to check their integrity. If you want to learn more about using checksums in a production workflow, please visit the website of the Media Hash List project at mediahashlist.org.
Organize room
The Organize room allows you to browse through the clip library, to watch clips, and to inspect metadata. Here you can decide which clips make the cut, rate them or even add comments and information like scene and shot. It is also possible to ingest clips without copy just by drag&dropping them on the Import Folders panel.
Library
The left Library panel (figure 4 #1) shows the folders in your library. There are three kind of folders:
• Import folders: these are created every time clips are copied or ingested. Folder will be automatically named after the source camera storage or ingest folder.
• Custom folders: folders created by the user to store a set of clips.
• Smart folders: a predefined set of folders that contain clips with certain metadata. These folders are updated automatically when a metadata value is modified.
To move clips from folder to folder, right click on them and select “move clips to…” and then choose the desired folder. Custom folders can also be created by this method.
figure 5: thumbnail detail
The thumbnail view can give you a glimpse of the clip’s information:
• The white line shows in and out points set on the clip.
• “M” means that metadata has been added to the clip.
• “G” shows that the clip has been graded.
• “T” reveals that the clip is already transcoded.
Playback controls
It is possible to change the playback quality to adapt to every hardware specification. Soft will give you less sharper image, but the playback performance will increase. Use the default setting to get a standard image quality. The AHD option will give you the best image quality, for still image check, but playback performance will decrease.

Color room
ClipHouse offers a very intuitive Color room to adjust both technical and artistic aspects of the image. The grading controls let you manipulate white balance, exposure, saturation, tint, contrast and sharpness. The playback controls are the same as in the Organize room.
To start grading a clip select it from the left Library panel or from the timeline. Then you can start applying modifications with the image controls (figure 8 #1). By default the 2D controls and Color Spheres are shown, but sliders are also available.
If you think the grading went too far, you can always start again after clicking on the Reset button on each control or the Reset Look and Reset All button:
• Reset Look: set the Saturation, Shadows tone, Highlights tone, Contrast and Sharpening to the default values.
• Reset All: set all the image controls to the default values.
Once you have finished the creation of a look for your footage, it is possible to create a Preset grade by clicking on the “Create” button (figure 8 #2). To apply this grade to multiple clips, select all the takes from the Library panel and then double click it or hit the “Apply” button. These Preset grades can be exported and imported by clicking on the “Gear” button (figure 8 #3).
figure 9: grades panel
Full screen playback is supported. To enter this mode hit Option+⌘+F in your keyboard. You can also playback in a second monitor if you enable this option in Preferences.
Loop and In/Out checkboxes will limit and loop the playback to the in and out points set on the clip.
ClipHouse also lets you zoom and pan by dragging the image and holding the “Alt/Option” key.
The small Volume icon shows the playback source disk when clicked.

Metadata
Useful information can be added to the clips in the metadata panel (figure 4#3). To edit multiple clips, select all of them and modify the desired value.
Editing
A rough first cut can be made directly in ClipHouse. To set in and out points simply hit the I and O keys in your keyboard. You can also split clips by placing the playhead in the cut point and hitting ⌘B. These edits will be kept in the Export room, this way you are able to only transcode the useful footage and save some disk space.
Export room
In the Export room you will be able to transcode RAW camera media to QuickTime movie files. It is possible to export the clips to multiple destinations at the same time with custom settings for each destination. The exported files will contain the color grades created in the the Color room.
First select the clips you want to transcode from the Library panel. Then select a destination for the clips. The default destination will be the /Users/[username]/Movies/ClipHouse/Exports. To manage custom destinations click on the Add and Remove buttons (figure 10 #1).
Different preset settings are available for each destination (figure 10 #2):
Custom settings
In addition to the preset settings, users are able to create their own settings for each destination. The following options are available:
- Codec: affects the compression of the footage.
- Size: upscale, keep size or downscale your footage with this setting.
- Resizing: The zoom to fit option will adjust the horizontal resolution of the clip to fit in the selected final size. Zoom to fill will affect the vertical resolution of the footage to the final size, cropping the sides. 1 to 1 will zoom the footage to 100% in the center of the image to adjust to the final selected size, cropping everything else.
Cliphouse 1 0 6 Fraction
- Debayering sets the quality of the RAW processing. “Soft” will be faster for the transcoding process and will give a soft look to the image. The “default” option gives good quality with a reasonable transcoding time. AHD is the slowest for transcoding, but will give the best image quality.
- In/Out points checkbox to limit the transcoded clips to the previously set In/Out points in the playback view.
When the clips are selected and the export settings are defined for every destination, then click on “Start Export”. If you want to follow the progress of the transcoding, click on the “Jobs” panel.
